It is very realistic to lose 10 pounds in month. Simply follow these simple steps:

1. Calculate your maximum daily calories allowed (MDCA)..

2. Plan your meals to stay under your MDCA.

3. If you want to eat something that exceeds your MDCA, simply calculate the calories in that food and burn that number of calories before you eat the food that causes you to go over your MDCA. 

You can lose 10 pounds a month by consuming (eating/drinking) less calories than you burn each day. Get a food scale and carefully count the calories you consume. Then be sure you burn more calories than you consume each day. You will lose weight. 

To ensure you lose 10 pounds a month:

1.  Calculate your TDEE and Subtract 500 calories from it. That number is the maximum number of calories you should consume in a day to lose weight. 

2. Burn 500 calories a day with your choice of exercise, cardio workouts, HIIT workouts etc..

Walking is amazing for weight loss. A short 15 minute daily walk burns an extra 1050 calories a week!
